Power Pages Portal with Embedded Power BI Dashboards

We are seeking an experienced Power Platform Developer to create an external-facing Power Pages portal (formerly Power Apps portals) that allows authenticated users to manage Subscriptions, Projects, Customers, and Requests, with Power BI dashboards seamlessly embedded. The goal is to offer a unified, secure web experience where customers can log in, subscribe to various projects, raise support/feature requests, and view relevant analytics in Power BI.
Key Features
- Power Pages external site with user registration & login.
- Role-based security (e.g., Admin vs. Customer) to control feature access.
Subscriptions & Projects:
- Manage multiple subscriptions.
- Link projects to subscriptions.
- Display embedded Power BI dashboards for each subscribed project.
Request Management:
- Create and track requests tied to specific subscriptions/projects.
- Basic workflow (open, in-progress, completed).
Data Integration:
- Store metadata (customers, subscriptions, projects, requests) in Dataverse or Azure SQL (to be determined based on developer recommendation).
UI/Branding:
- Apply our existing logo and typography, ensuring a modern, user-friendly interface.
Skills & Qualifications
- Proven Expertise in Power Pages (Power Apps Portals)
- Demonstrable experience configuring external-facing portals, user authentication, and role-based access.
Power BI Embedding
- Ability to integrate Power BI dashboards/reports into the portal securely.
Dataverse / Azure SQL
- Strong understanding of data modeling and best practices for integration with Power Apps.
- Power Automate (Optional)
- For potential workflows or notifications related to requests and status updates.
Security & Authentication
- Knowledge of identity management (e.g., Azure AD B2C, portal authentication mechanisms) to handle external user logins.
UI/UX Skills
- Ability to create a clean, user-friendly interface aligned with our branding guidelines.
Portfolio Requirement
- Must have completed at least two similar Power Platform projects, specifically involving Power Pages (or Power Apps Portals) and embedded Power BI dashboards. Provide project links, demos, or screenshots if possible.
Scope of Work
Portal Setup & Configuration
- Create/Configure Power Pages site for external user access.
- Establish security roles (Admin, Customer).
- Data Model & Integration
- Design the data structures for Customers, Subscriptions, Projects, Requests.
Implement in Dataverse or set up an Azure SQL database (depending on licensing and your recommendation).
Feature Implementation
- Build custom pages/forms for managing subscriptions, projects, and requests.
Embed Power BI dashboards associated with each project.
- Implement basic request lifecycle (status changes, optional notifications).
Branding & UI
- Incorporate provided logos, color schemes, typography, and ensure a cohesive user experience.
Testing & Deployment
- Conduct functional and user acceptance testing.
- Deploy the final portal to production with secure login for external customers.
Timeline
- We aim for an MVP within 1 week (negotiable).
- Please propose your estimated completion date based on the scope.
Deliverables
- Fully functional Power Pages portal (live or test environment).
- Embedded Power BI dashboards (provided by our in-house Power BI team, you’ll handle the embedding/configuration).
- Documentation (admin guide, basic user instructions).
- Final handover of solution with appropriate source files or configurations.
