Overview:
I have an existing website developed using the Serenity Framework (MVC-based). The website is functional and connected to an SQL Server database. However, I want to upgrade and modernize it using Angular for the frontend and .NET for the backend. Additionally, the application, previously used for a single company, now needs to support multitenancy.
The database schema has already been updated with a CompanyId column in relevant tables to facilitate multitenancy.
Project Scope
Frontend Development:
Rebuild the user interface using Angular for a modern and dynamic experience.
Ensure the UI is responsive, user-friendly, and caters to multitenancy features (e.g., company-specific branding or data segregation in the UI).
Include proper state management to handle tenant-specific views and data.
Backend Development:
Replace or upgrade the backend with .NET (preferably .NET Core or .NET 6/7).
Implement robust multitenant architecture:
Add middleware or services to handle tenant identification (e.g., based on subdomains, query strings, or headers).
Ensure tenant-specific data isolation and access control.
Secure APIs to facilitate communication between Angular and .NET while supporting tenant-based data segregation.
Database Integration:
Utilize the existing SQL Server database.
Ensure all queries and stored procedures correctly filter data by CompanyId.
Optimize database performance for multitenant scenarios.
Authentication and Authorization:
Implement secure authentication that supports multitenancy (e.g., tenant-specific login, JWT, or OAuth).
Support user roles and permissions at both the tenant and global levels.
Multitenancy Features:
Ensure tenants can have unique configurations (e.g., themes, modules, or settings).
Allow for tenant-specific data management and analytics.
Testing and Deployment:
Perform end-to-end testing for multitenancy functionality.
Test for performance, scalability, and security across multiple tenants.
Assist with deployment to the production environment with minimal downtime.
