Job ID: 39103132

Budget: $5,000 – $10,000 USD

Overview
Need an online C2C / B2C marketplace for flower growers (mostly backyard gardeners, but also small flower farms) to sell individual arrangements directly to consumers for local pickup or local delivery (no shipping) by grower or their designee.
Capacity
In 2025, the website needs capability to support at least 500 individual grower (seller) profiles and at least 40,000 unique customer profiles and to support from 500-2500 purchase transactions per day.
Need ability to expand to eventual goal of 50,000 individual grower profiles and over 5 million unique customer profiles with over 500,000 transactions per day
Hosting / Development
The domain for compan is currently registered through Hostinger and an introductory website is currently hosted through Hostinger. We are considering using LiquidWeb to host and developing a WordPress site with plug-ins but are open to other possibilities if they would better meet the site needs.
Website Essentials
These are aspects that are absolutely essential to the operation of the business and need to be integrated before launch
• Grower profiles - need ability to display bio, photos, and product offerings, possible link to their business website
• Grower listings - within their profiles, growers will create listings for each type of arrangement they are offering. Need to be able to specify:
o Description of arrangement - size, color palette, types of flowers, type of container
o Available dates / times for pickup and delivery
o Quantity of arrangements available for purchase
o Zipcode for delivery or pickup (may be multiple zip codes and may be different from grower’s profile address)
o For pickup orders, need specific pickup location, date/time, and instructions ○ For delivery orders, need to be able to add delivery fee, add separate delivery address from purchaser address and date/time, add a delivery message (i.e. “Happy Birthday Grandma”)
o Need time cut-off for orders (i.e. transaction must occur 24 hours prior to designated delivery / pickup time)
• Grower application and membership fee collection (grower profile cannot go live until approved by admin and membership fee payed)
• Customer profiles - collect basic contact and payment info - integrate contact info into database for future marketing
Pop-up for manual grower search - If a potential customer does not find a grower in their desired location, need a pop-up that will prompt them to fill out form with their desired location and item type - our staff will use this info to attempt to locate a grower to meet their request within 24 hours
• Secure payment processing - considering Stripe? (Stripe seems like a good idea)
• Ability to hold payment to grower until product has been delivered
• Ability to collect commission from both grower and purchaser
• Ability to search for products by zip code, date needed, pickup vs delivery
• Ability for customer or delivery recipient to review product and to have reviews displayed on grower profile
• Quality control system - grower should upload photo of arrangement prior to pickup / delivery
• Delivery / pickup confirmation system - upload photo of delivery or pickup - send this to purchaser (may be different from delivery recipient) - this will initiate payment to grower
• Integrate referral codes / discount codes. Referral codes are a key component of our initial marketing strategy - Growers and social media influencers will have unique codes that offer discounts for new grower subscriptions and new purchasers. When used, these codes need to
o Provide percentage discount for the purchase
o Initiate cash payout to the referring person
• Gift cards / codes
• Customer service portal for growers and customers
• SEO
Website Wishlist
These are the components that we want to integrate into the website as soon as possible but we may be able to launch without them if necessary
• Sales tax calculation and collection
• Community site for growers - grower recognition, message board, etc.
• Blog
• Other designations / search filters for grower profiles (organic, no-plastic, woman-owned, BIPOC, LGBTQ, ASFGA member, etc.)
• Integration with optional third-party delivery system, possibly DoorDash for Merchants
• Off-season banner with links to partner resources
• Set transaction limits by grower membership level
• Display total cost to buyer when viewing product (include fees, delivery, taxes)
• Display star review in grower profile, search results
• “Star Grower” designation and search filter
