Design and Code Jekyll based website that displays curated content

Hello, and thanks for considering my project!
My name is Tim and I run Systainer.Store (https://systainer.store/). Users often share photos with me on email or on social media showing how they use Systainers. I'd like to build a dedicate place to host and show these photos and that place is a web site called Systainer Works.
I'm looking for someone to design and code a Jekyll based website. The best candidate has an eye and an opinion on design and also has good Jekyll programming skills. This person will work with me to design and build Systainer Works.
Systainer Works has a Pinterest or Unsplash feel to it. I've already bought a template to get us a fair bit of work done, but there is certainly more to do. The template: https://jekyllthemes.io/theme/board-portfolio-jekyll-theme
To be clear, all content posted to this site is curated by me, as an admin. There isn't any 'user account' or login or anything like that.
Design:
I've got some mockup designs and inspiration, at least preliminary. Though I'm not in love with them. There is a brand guide too that I had created to guide us on style and color.
I believe we need to code or mock more up, see how it feels and looks in the browser, and then adjust as we go. I like iterative work between coding and designing.
Tech Stack:
Jekyll
CMS - open to your recommendation, I've tried https://www.siteleaf.com/ and seems simple and I like their API to help me potentially automate.
Netlify - for deployment/hosting I think
You would lead on design and coding, though I'll be following along and contributing, and of course approving. The final deliverable is a web site with the agreed design and pages that works well on desktop and mobile devices.
Pages for this site:
Main page: Masonry grid layout, like template
About us page: simply text, maybe email us form
Submit Your Work page: way for user to submit their photos and description, looking at possible form service to help with this like tally.so.
Thank you page: displayed after form is submitted
tag page: listing showing all the tags from posts
Then, I think there is some idea like the main page, but shows only the selected category or tag - sort of a page showing the filter/sort.
A 'post' page: displayed when user clicks on a post/entry/photo
What is not in the site:
No search feature, at this time.
No user account, user login, user creation
Other consideration:
I've been thinking about the CMS/Front matter a bit. Some of those ideas:
A post on Systainer Works contains 1 to 6 pictures. Each picture could have a description.
A post could have up to 1 YouTube video with a short description.
A post on Systainer Works could contain a profile of the person submitting with a pic and brief bio and social media links. Or it could be anonymous. On the backend though (in the CMS) I'd create a profile so I could track who submitted what content as I curate it.
Each post would have tags associated with it.
There is an idea of a sponsored post, which may include special graphics to call this out, could be phase 2 of the project.
Nice to have: The CMS, if possible, should build some sort of link abstractions. That is in the photo descriptions I'll have links to products or other sites. It would be nice to have a single place to update links should something change.
What I have:
An enthusiasm to collaborate and work through the design and coding.
Experience as a designer and developer, just I don't know much about Jekyll or have patience for fiddly css web site coding and making it work across devices.
I have some initial designs and ideas, attached, but not a final design
I have brand guide, logo, etc.
I have a starting jekyll template that I think is pretty solid in design, we need to adapt it. I've attached a screenshot from some initial work I was doing.
I'll create the content for the site.
I think this will be a fun project to work on together. My style is to ship something reliable, quickly, and then iterate on the design and content.
When you create your bid please include how we would collaborate (our collaboration stack).
Also include an estimation of hours and timeline.
Finally, help me understand how you are best for this and have experience in design and Jekyll/html/css/js.
