Create eBook with DRM software and add shopping cart with online payments to my website -- 2
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
Simon Stewart is a university lecturer based in Thailand and he has written a course textbook. The book is currently available in traditional hardcopy and has an associated website (www.englishforeverydayuse.com) and social media channels.
The project will include adding a shopping cart to the existing website for selling the hardcopy of the book and the new eBook.
Currently, the client has a PDF version of the book.
The eBook must be sold in PDF format using DRM software to limit the potential for copyright theft. The developer must have experience in using DRM software. Single user password protection should be used to ensure that there is the greatest protection in place for the content. It is expected that the eBook will sell approximately 1000 copies a year. Finding the best solution for DRM is an integral part of this project.
Also, taking online payments through PayPal is an essential part of this project.
Project goals
1. Shopping cart bolt-on to existing site to sell both versions of the book – hard copy and new (PDF) eBook.
2. Advising client of the best options for DRM software and creation of an eBook version (in PDF) using that DRM software.
3. Fine tuning the current website to remove bugs and glitches (including uploading Word files, audio files and news/blog posts).
4. Test website in its entirety and test the new purchasing function to ensure a seamless end user experience.
