Budget: $25 – $50 USD
The Harmony Project is seeking a web developer or agency to build an online learning portal that will provide online learning for Bow Valley students in grade 7,8 &9. The selected agency or developer will create an online course working closely with the Harmony Project.
Part 1: The Project demographics and audience:
Purpose: Create an innovate online learning portal about healthy relationships for grade 7, 8 & 9’s
Project Description: This project will create an innovate online learning portal for grade 7, 8 & 9’s (12- 15 year olds) in the Bow Valley. This innovative learning medium will provide an opportunity for our young community to develop new skills and build important capacity around the following outcomes: healthy relationships, consent, empathy, leadership, community resources and self- care. The virtual program will address the key needs of this age demographic providing the necessary skills to form healthy relationships. With the shift to online learning over the past year and the prominent use of online tools in the classroom, a virtual learning portal appears to be an ideal way to ensure students are given the opportunity to learn these essential skills in a format that is accessible.
The project goals/priorities:
An interactive learning experience that students will enjoy using & teachers and school admin will support
This project would apply a trauma informed lens to all learning materials and modes of delivery
Catering to specific types of learners such as kinesthetic, English language learners or students of varying abilities will be front of mind during the development phase
The course must be formatted for chrome books which are what most students are using in our community
Project Outcomes: Students will complete the program sufficiently informed and empowered to establish and maintain healthy relationships with themself and others that are safe and free from abuse. The program will be developed in a way that it can be used in the years to come, with the ability for the Harmony Project to edit the course material as needed.
Key deliverables of web developer:
Creation of online & interactive learning portal/platform with content provided by the Harmony Project
The ability to track individual users for data collection
Each user must have their information stored securely to protect the users identity
An integrated survey following completion of the course to use for reporting
An easy way to create unique log in information for each user
The ability once the contract is completed for the Harmony Project to edit the curriculum as it changes
