Android-x86 Cloud Phone Build

I’m launching a cloud phone service where every subscriber receives a dedicated Android-x86 virtual machine running on KVM and streamed to the browser through WebRTC. To move quickly I need someone who has already wrestled with Android-x86 on bare-metal KVM (or QEMU/KubeVirt) and can deliver a production-ready pipeline from image creation to autoscaling.

The project breaks down into four concrete objectives.

• Golden image: compile or adapt a lean, hardware-accelerated Android-x86 build, embed the Google-free bits we legally can, enable virtio-GPU, audio, camera passthrough, and preinstall our custom launcher (I’ll supply UI assets and APK signing keys).

• Automation: script image baking with Packer (or your preferred tool), then provision, update, and recycle VMs through Ansible/Terraform so a pool of fresh instances is always available.

• Streaming layer: configure Janus, Pion, or WebRTC-Native pipeline so sessions start in under-two seconds and keep round-trip latency below 120 ms over average broadband. STUN/TURN hardening, adaptive bitrate, and secure transport are mandatory.

• Scale & observability: plug the stack into Prometheus/Grafana, add health hooks for autoscaling, and document a disaster-recovery path.

You’ll hand over:

1. Version-controlled IaC repo (image build scripts, provisioning, teardown).
2. Final OVA/RAW golden image with the custom launcher preloaded.
3. CI/CD workflow definitions (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar).
4. A short runbook that lets any ops engineer recreate the fleet from scratch.
