Website Security Fix: Malware Infection

Job ID: 39262412

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

My website has been flagged by Google Chrome as a dangerous site due to a malware infection. No actions have been taken so far to address this issue. Thankfully, I do have a recent backup of the website.

Project Overview:
I need an experienced website security expert to investigate and resolve a critical issue with my WordPress website, www.BillLeighty.com, which is currently displaying a "Dangerous Site" warning in Google Chrome. The site has likely been flagged by Google Safe Browsing due to a security vulnerability, malware, or suspicious code. I'm hoping to get this resolved for $50 US

Objectives:

Identify the root cause of the "Dangerous Site" warning.

Perform a full malware and vulnerability scan of the website.

Remove any malicious code or compromised files.

Secure the website against future attacks (e.g., plugin updates, security hardening).

Assist in submitting a review request to Google Search Console to lift the site warning.

Key Requirements:

Proven experience in WordPress website security and malware removal.

Familiarity with Google Safe Browsing and the review process.

Ability to clean and secure WordPress core, themes, and plugins.

Knowledge of tools such as Wordfence, Sucuri, or equivalent.

Clear and timely communication with updates throughout the process.

Deliverables:

Full security report before and after cleanup.

Confirmation that the site is free of malware and passes scans (Sucuri, VirusTotal, etc.).

Successful removal of the "Dangerous Site" warning from Google Chrome.

Basic recommendations to prevent future issues (e.g., firewall, regular scans, etc.).

Timeline:
This is an urgent issue. I would like to begin immediately and resolve it as quickly as possible—ideally within 2–3 days.
