We are an innovative software development company running critical workloads on cloud servers (currently hosted in Switzerland, with potential migration to Hetzner). To strengthen our security posture and reduce dependency on a single individual, we are seeking a DevOps / Cloud Infrastructure & Security Engineer.
This role is responsible for managing our hosting environments, access credentials, vault/secret management, and ensuring secure, scalable, and reliable infrastructure operations.

Key Responsibilities

Access & Security Management

Take over ownership of all SSH keys, server logins, vaults, and credential management systems (e.g. HashiCorp Vault, Bitwarden, 1Password, or similar).

Immediately audit, rotate, and secure all existing credentials to eliminate unauthorized access risk.

Establish role-based access control (RBAC) and secure key/secret lifecycle processes.


Infrastructure Operations

Manage cloud and hosting environments across Reset Exascale, Hostpoint (Switzerland), and potential new setups at Hetzner.

Monitor uptime, performance, and backups of production and staging systems.

Maintain automated deployment pipelines and configuration management.


Migration & Scalability

Support and execute potential migration from Swiss hosting providers to Hetzner or other infrastructure providers.

Ensure minimal downtime, proper data transfer, and regulatory compliance.


Compliance & Risk Mitigation

Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting for all environments.

Enforce security best practices (firewalls, intrusion detection, patch management).

Reduce single-person dependency by documenting processes and ensuring knowledge transfer to management.



Required Skills & Qualifications

Proven experience in DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, or System Administration.

Strong knowledge of Linux server administration (Ubuntu/Debian/CentOS).

Hands-on with cloud hosting providers (Hetzner, AWS, GCP, Azure, or similar).

Proficiency with SSH, VPNs, SSL/TLS certificates, DNS, and firewalls.

Experience with credential & secret management tools (e.g., Vault, Bitwarden, 1Password).

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automation (Ansible, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes a plus).

Strong understanding of IT security best practices.


Nice to Have

Knowledge of Swiss data protection laws and compliance requirements.

Experience with infrastructure migrations between providers.

Exposure to incident response and disaster recovery planning.
