California Community Colleges Course Offerings Research

Job ID: 33541125

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

This project is to research California Community College websites and find out which colleges offer specific courses. San Jose State University is a four year college in California that allows its students to complete some of their major course requirements at other colleges, including California Community Colleges. SJSU posts an online articulation list of which community college classes it accepts as equivalent to which SJSU courses. This list can be found at http://info.sjsu.edu/web-dbgen/artic/all-course-to-course.html. The California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office (CCCCO) has an alphabetical list of all the community colleges, available at https://www.cccco.edu/Students/Find-a-College/College-Alphabetical-Listing. In this project, you will investigate the equivalent course offerings of two SJSU courses: CMPE 50 and EE 98. You will need to individually research the course offerings for 115 community colleges, by looking at their class schedules to find out if they offer equivalents to either or both of these two courses. The requirement is a zip file containing a results spreadsheet and a folder for each college, showing a screenshot of the SJSU articulation agreement with that college, and the results of the search. At speed, the estimated time to research the course offerings of a single college ranges from 5 to 10 minutes, resulting in a total workload estimate of 9.6 to 19.2 hours. The full requirements and instructions, with screenshot examples, are enclosed in the corresponding document.
