I have come up with an idea that I've proved to work which involves comparing true odds of a particular betting event happening (horse/greyhound racing) to the odds of that of a bookmaker to see which horse/greyhound will return a positive expected value when backing said horse/greyhound on a betting exchange. This however is tedious and I would like to automate it. This would involve using Betfair's Exchange API to collect the backing odds of horses and greyhounds throughout the day, and compare it to the odds found on Sportsbet, this would require scraping the odds from multiple dynamic web pages, applying an equation to calculate the % expected return while factoring in commission rates from the exchange. Attached are screenshots from the same race on Sportsbet and Betfair, these can be used as an example of what to look for and what I mean by bookmaker odds and exchange backing odds.
