Teach me - how to extract data from a website (after login)

I need someone to teach me how to extra the data from a website after login. need to write a script. any language is ok.
you will write a script with me, show me how to do it. it is a teaching assignment and not one time extraction assignment
need to know the process to scrape data from websites which require login
