Rome Property Availability Monitor

Job ID: 39834768

Budget: $10 – $30 USD

I need a lightweight, reliable solution that checks several major real-estate portals every day and tells me—via a single email—whether any Rome-based listings have changed status or disappeared since the previous run. The core goal is clear: continuously monitor property availability so I can react quickly when something I’m tracking goes off the market.

Here’s the workflow I have in mind:
1. Once a day, the script visits the set of sites we’ll agree on (I can provide a starting list or we can compile it together).
2. It filters results to the city of Rome and the property types I’ll specify.
3. It compares the day’s data to the stored snapshot from the day before.
4. If a listing has vanished or its availability flag has flipped, I receive an email summarising exactly what changed, with direct links to the affected ads. No changes, no email.

I’m flexible on implementation—Python with BeautifulSoup/Scrapy, a headless browser like Selenium if needed, and a simple cron job or cloud function for scheduling all sound fine as long as the final setup is easy for me to deploy on a small VPS (Ubuntu) or a low-cost cloud tier.

Deliverables
• Source code with clear setup instructions
• A short README explaining where to enter my target URLs and email credentials
• One successful live test showing the daily email notification in action

If you’ve built similar scrapers or monitoring bots, let me know; I’m ready to start right away.
