Remove Outdated News Article
Budget: $10 – $500 CAD
An outdated news article that no longer reflects the current facts about me is still live online and continues to appear in search results. My goal is to have the piece taken down completely—or, if full removal proves impossible, to secure formal corrections and ensure the URL is de-indexed from Google, Bing, and other major search engines.
Scope of work
• Identify the fastest, most effective legal or editorial pathway for takedown.
• Liaise with the publisher’s editorial or legal team, citing accuracy and right-to-be-forgotten arguments where applicable.
• File any necessary removal or suppression requests with search engines once the page is offline (or updated).
• Confirm the article and its cached versions no longer show in standard web and news searches.
Acceptance criteria
1. Live URL returns a 404/410 or a substantially corrected version that addresses the outdated content.
2. Cached and indexed copies are cleared from major search engines.
3. I receive written confirmation or screenshots verifying removal and de-indexing.
Experience with online reputation management, DMCA/right-to-be-forgotten submissions, and publisher outreach is essential, along with a concise outline of your proposed timeline and previous success in similar removals.
