Project Overview:
I am looking for a developer to help build a prototype for a searchable database tool that compiles information from multiple websites through web scraping. The tool should function similarly to a flight search website but for a different industry (details provided upon selection). Instead of API connections, the tool will scrape, store, and display information in an easy-to-navigate format.
The initial phase will focus on:
Scraping structured data from a few selected websites
Storing the data in an accessible and searchable format
Creating a basic web interface where users can search, filter, and view results
Key Features for the Prototype:
✅ Web Scraping: Extract structured data (e.g., cost, location, schedule, description, age range) from targeted websites
✅ Data Storage: Save scraped data in a database (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or another recommended option)
✅ Search & Filtering: Users should be able to search by categories (e.g., location, cost, type, age group)
✅ Simple Web UI: A basic, user-friendly web interface to display and interact with the data
Ideal Skills & Experience:
? Web Scraping – Experience with Python (BeautifulSoup, Scrapy, Selenium) or other scraping tools
? Database Management – PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or other scalable solutions
? Frontend Development – Basic HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or a simple frontend framework (React, Vue, or Bootstrap)
? Backend Development – Python (Flask, FastAPI, or Django) or Node.js
? Deployment Knowledge – Experience hosting web apps (AWS, DigitalOcean, Vercel, etc.) is a plus
