Data aggregation, price comparison and competitor price/ data scrapping
Budget: €250 – €750 EUR
Task 1:
Background:
We have three different wholesalers/ suppliers for Korean cosmetics. Each of them sells several items. They all have some brands in common as well as some brands, those are only sold by one supplier.
The supplier changes their prices many times per year (6-10 times) for one or several products.
Requirements:
I want to have one Excel, where I can compare the prices of all the suppliers for the same product. All products have an unique barcode/ EAN and this could be used to identify the right product from each supplier's list as well as sort the right data and compare the data.
Example:
EAN/ Barcode: 8809738316139
Brand: Beauty of Joseon
Product: Beauty of Joseon Ginseng Revive Serum + Snail Mucin 30ml (The name could be written slightly in a different manner by each supplier but they all mean the same product and same EAN).
=> Now, I want to compare the wholesalers prices from AIMING, Liwela and Kenkana. So they could be in different columns. If the prices could be fetched from their original lists and then put in a single sheet, I will be able to see that AIMING is charging 8,80 Euro, Liwela is charging 9,95 and Kenkana 10,90 for the same product. Now based on such a price comparison, I can always select the right products to be ordered from the right supplier.
Excel Columns:
Sr. Nr.
EAN/ Barcode
Product Name
Quantity
Price (one column per vendor). In our example, there will be three vendors.
Last column mentioning who is the cheapest vendor. If a new vendor is added, there should be a new column and this should be automatically taken in to consideration for price comparison.
Things to keep in mind:
I would be adding a few new vendors in the future too. Their excel syntax could be different but at the end of the day, we want to add a new vendor as a new column in the master sheet and compare the price.
Everytime we have a new comparison, the old version should be saved separately and should not be deleted.
This could be a task using FTP upload and a permanent location for the raw data.
Each excel is having multiple sheets with different brands.
Task 2:
Taking the same EAN/ Barcode example: 8809738316139 I also want to do the price/ web scraping to check the competitor's prices for the same products and check, where the market is going and who is selling at what price. Also, in this case, the data could be accumulated based on the EAN/ Barcode number and put in one database. The interval of data scraping and how often the data will be updated could be defined/ you can suggest. The price scrapping is only limited to the German market since we are selling the products in Germany.

If you have done silimar tasks in the past, please send me some references.
Irrespective of what experience you have or you don't have, you can send me a sample of your output for the first taks or second or how you will go for it.
Please mention any input you require, rough time line and cost basis.
Feel free to ask before you quote.
