Build a Multi-level Taxonomy for Most Common Job Titles within Life Science market -- 2

Job ID: 31499418

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

Overall Project Ask:
Our company is looking to create a market-aligned Scientific and Clinical job roles taxonomy. This multi-level taxonomy will help create descriptive job titles that can help in targeted demand fulfillment and recruitment activities.

Project Background:
Our current internal job title taxonomy requires a complete overhaul. Some job titles offer very broad descriptors (such as Scientist, Chemist and Life scientist) and 75% of revenue is associated with top 10 job titles. Some newer areas of science are also not adequately reflected in the existing set of job titles. It is beneficial for our business to be able to capture (and analyze) these in a more specific fashion.

Project Scope:
The taxonomy should cover 80% of the major demand themes within the Science and Clinical market and extensible so that it can have regular additions (with ease) without impacting the rest of the taxonomy. Job Titles associated with Healthcare are EXCLUDED from this project. Upon award of this project, the current internal list of 122 job titles will be provided to the successful bidder as background information.

The taxonomy should be built by using publicly available job postings in Indeed, LinkedIn, Glassdoor and other job boards. While the exact structure of the taxonomy is TBD, one potential structure could be similar to the example below (an IT example), based on 4 levels:
a. A major functional area
b. Competency areas
c. Experience (Junior, senior, manager, architect)
d. Skill(s)

An example of the above could be “Junior PHP Web Developer – Angular” OR “Senior PHP Web Developer – Angular” OR “Web development manager” OR “Web architect”. The IT services tower is Application development; competency area is web development; skills can be PHP, Angular; and experience can be Junior for 0-3 years, 3-6 as senior, 6-8 as manager. In this example, each of the four levels would have codes assigned (three digit alpha numeric) that would be brought together to create 12 digit job role code.

Please ensure the nomenclature used is industry standard. There will need to be further alignment to our company's internal terms through the review process during the project.

Having a scientific background or being familiar with the life sciences industry would be an advantage for this project, but is not a strict requirement.
