Auto-Scaling WordPress on Azure app service
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I need a fresh WordPress instance deployed to Azure App Service, configured for true auto-scaling and painless updates. The build can stay simple—just the default WordPress install and theme—but the underlying Azure infrastructure must be solid.
Key points I want handled:
• Provision an Azure App Service Plan with automatic scale-out rules so traffic spikes never slow the site.
• Point the WordPress files to an external database server that I will provide credentials for, rather than Azure’s built-in options.
• Configure deployment so I can push future WordPress core, theme, or plugin updates through either GitHub Actions or the built-in Deployment Center without downtime.
• Deliver clear, step-by-step documentation covering the Azure resources created, DNS mapping, and everyday update steps.
I’ll consider the project complete once the site loads from my custom domain, scales out under a basic load test, and I can trigger a sample Git commit that updates the site without breaking anything.
