Oman Index – Web Platform
Project Title:
Build a Local Business Directory & Smart Landing Pages Platform (Oman Index)
Project Overview:
I’m building a web platform called “Oman Index”, which is a modern business & social directory for Oman.
But it’s NOT just a directory.
It is a business growth platform where small and medium businesses can have their own dynamic landing pages that help them get customers, leads, and online visibility.
Each business page should act like a mini website + marketing tool, not just a static listing.
Core Concept:
Each business will have its own smart landing page that includes:
• Business profile (name, category, description)
• Location + Google Maps integration
• Click-to-call button
• WhatsApp integration
• Services or products section
• Image gallery
• Reviews & ratings system
• Contact form / lead capture
• Social platforms
The goal is to turn each listing into a lead generation page, not just information display.
Key Features Required:
1. Business Directory System
• Add / edit / manage business listings
• Categories (restaurants, pharmacies, hospitals, entertainment clubs, gym etc.)
• Search and filtering (by category, city, keyword)
• SEO-friendly URLs for each business page
2. Dynamic Business Landing Pages
Each business page must include:
• Responsive design (mobile-first)
• SEO optimized page structure
• Customizable sections per business
• Google Maps integration
• WhatsApp click-to-chat button
• Call button (mobile optimized)
3. Lead Generation Features
This is very important:
• WhatsApp integration with pre-filled messages
• Contact form with email notifications
• Optional booking/request system
• Track number of leads per business
4. Reviews & Ratings System
• Users can leave reviews
• Star rating system (1–5)
• Admin moderation system
5. Admin Dashboard
• Manage all businesses
• Approve or reject listings
• Manage categories
• View analytics (views, clicks, leads)
• Manage users and subscriptions (if needed later)
6. SEO Optimization
• Each business page must be SEO optimized
• Clean URLs (e.g. /muscat/restaurants/al-dar-cafe)
• Meta titles & descriptions per page
• Schema markup for local business
7. Mobile First Design
• Fully responsive design
• Fast loading pages
• Optimized for mobile users (priority traffic)
8. Multi-language Support
The platform must be fully bilingual from the start:
• Arabic (RTL – Right to Left)
• English (LTR – Left to Right)
Requirements:
• Users can switch language easily (language toggle button)
• Entire UI must support both languages
• Business pages must support bilingual content:
o Business name (optional in both languages)
o Description in Arabic & English
o Categories and system labels translated
• SEO must support both languages separately
o Arabic URLs for Arabic pages (if possible)
o English SEO structure for English pages
Important Notes:
• The system must be built with internationalization (i18n) best practices
• RTL layout must be fully supported (not just translated text)
• Fonts and UI must look clean in both languages
• Auto-detect user language based on browser/location
• Separate SEO indexing for Arabic and English pages
Advanced Features:
• WhatsApp automation / templates
• Simple AI chatbot for business pages
• QR code generator for each business
• Featured listings / promoted businesses
• Multi-language support (Arabic + English)
Suggested Tech Stack:
You can suggest your preferred stack, but ideally:
• Backend: Laravel / Node.js / Django
• Frontend: React / Next.js
• Database: MySQL or PostgreSQL
• Hosting: AWS / DigitalOcean / Vercel
• API integration for WhatsApp / Maps
What I’m Looking For:
• Experience building directories or SaaS platforms
• Strong UI/UX skills
• SEO understanding
• Ability to build scalable architecture
• Clean and maintainable code
Deliverables:
• Fully working web platform (MVP version first)
• Admin dashboard
• Business landing pages system
• Documentation
• Deployment on server
Important Note:
This is a long-term project. MVP first, then scaling with additional features like subscriptions, ads, and automation tools.
