WordPress Performance & SEO Maintenance

I run a small group of 2 WordPress sites that are starting to feel sluggish, and I’d like a specialist to step in and tighten things up. The main focus is performance: I want noticeably faster loading times, properly optimised images, and a sharper server response so visitors experience minimal lag.

Here’s what I’m after:

• Audit each site, pinpointing bottlenecks that slow pages down.
• Implement best-practice optimisation—caching, minification, lazy-loading, next-gen image formats, database clean-ups and any server-side tweaks that make sense.
• Deliver measurable gains: PageSpeed or Lighthouse scores in the green, images compressed without visible quality loss, and a clear improvement in Time to First Byte.

Alongside the speed work, I also need technical SEO housekeeping—things like fixing crawl errors, refining XML sitemaps, ensuring robots.txt rules are sensible, adding or updating schema markup, and tightening on-page elements that affect search performance.

Please let me know how you would approach the audit, the tools you prefer (e.g. WP Rocket, LiteSpeed, GTmetrix, Screaming Frog, etc.), and what kind of reporting I can expect. If you’ve lifted multiple WordPress sites into the 90+ PageSpeed bracket before, I’d love to see an example.
