Overview
I have a live WordPress site (a tuition centre) currently built on Elementor that I need migrated to a clean, native Gutenberg block theme — and then extended with a filterable content library. This is a two-phase, milestone-billed project, built and reviewed on staging before going live. I have detailed written briefs (migration spec, taxonomy spec, JSON-LD schema) that I'll share with shortlisted candidates.
This is a precision job, not a quick rebuild. Please read the requirements before bidding.
Phase 1 — Elementor to native Gutenberg (≈8 pages)
Rebuild 8 existing pages as native core Gutenberg blocks styled centrally through theme.json / Global Styles — not rebuilt in Divi, Bricks, Elementor, or any other page builder. Getting off the page builder is the entire point; a builder-to-builder copy is explicitly out of scope.
Modern block (FSE) theme, e.g. Kadence, with a child theme. Brand palette and Poppins type scale defined in theme.json.
Repeating sections as synced patterns; fully responsive; rebrand text updates.
Preserve every existing page slug and the existing 301 redirects (recent domain migration — broken slugs/redirects would damage SEO). Don't touch the existing Yoast configuration.
Preserve hand-written JSON-LD: relocate the site-wide LocalBusiness block into the <head>, validated in Rich Results Test.
Staged build, go-live only after my sign-off, Elementor removed cleanly afterward.
Phase 2 — Filterable content library
Register 8 custom taxonomies via Custom Post Type UI (dashboard-editable, not hard-coded in functions.php).
Build a faceted filter using FacetWP with dependent, count-aware facets — i.e. selecting Subject narrows the Topic and Question-type options, and options returning zero results are hidden. (I hold the FacetWP licence.)
One hub page, one styled taxonomy archive template, built-in blog disabled and redirected.
On my side: FacetWP licence, all content and final term lists, a staging admin account, and timely feedback at each checkpoint.
