Website Code Audit & Performance Boost

I have a live business-portfolio website that feels sluggish and breaks layout on some devices. I need a seasoned developer to dive into the existing codebase, spot what is slowing us down, and return a site that is fully responsive and noticeably faster.
Here is what I need from you:
• Front-end design review and refactor – clean up the HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript so every page adapts flawlessly from mobile to desktop, and reduce render-blocking resources.
• Back-end functionality tuning – profile the current logic (Node/PHP, APIs, or whatever you find), streamline routes, add caching where sensible, and trim any redundant calls.
• Database optimisation – analyse queries, add or adjust indexes, and fine-tune configuration to cut response times.
• Concrete before-and-after metrics – Lighthouse or GTmetrix scores, server response times, and any profiling snapshots that prove the gains.
• Final hand-off – updated code, a short change log, and quick notes on how to keep performance high going forward.
