Web Task Manager for Print Shop
Budget: $250 – $750 CAD
I need a web-based task management application built specifically for my print and custom-clothing business. Every order that comes in is split into multiple production steps—design, printing, quality check, packing—and at the moment we rely on spreadsheets and hallway conversations to keep things moving. I want one central place where I can create those tasks, assign them to the right staff member, set clear deadlines, and see at a glance how far along each job is.
Key workflow requirements
• Tasks must be easy to create from any browser, grouped under an order or project name.
• Each task carries an assignee, due date, priority, and status; progress updates need to be visible on a simple dashboard so anyone on the floor can check what’s waiting on them.
• Automated notifications (email or in-app) so clients get automatic updates on their order status.
Integration with Quickbooks Online is a must, all of our customer info would come from QBO
Deliverables I expect
1. A responsive web application (desktop/tablet) built with modern, well-documented code.
2. User roles for admin, production staff, and viewer, each with the right permissions.
3. Dashboard showing real-time progress by order, department, and individual.
4. Notification system wired up and tested.
5. Basic installation guide and hand-off of source code in a private repo.
Acceptance criteria
• I can create an order, break it into tasks, assign owners, and set deadlines without leaving the browser.
• Status changes instantly reflect on the dashboard for all logged-in users.
• A test email alert arrives when a task is reassigned or marked overdue.
• Page load times stay under two seconds on a standard broadband connection.
