WOPI Web Integration Setup
Budget: ₹75,000 – ₹150,000 INR
I already have a web application and I now need to embed full WOPI-based Word document editing inside it. Before we proceed to the full build I first want a concise technical plan that answers two concrete questions:
• What exactly must be exposed in a WOPI host (metadata, discovery, proof-keys, etc.) so that Office Online will allow Word add-ins to run inside the embedded editor?
• How can we structure multiple sub-domains (for example tenant1.myapp.com, tenant2.myapp.com) so each of them is recognised as a valid WOPI source without breaking Office’s same-origin and CORS requirements?
- Why ngrok works with wopi well and subdomain doesnt.
Send me a short write-up covering the endpoints, headers, manifest tweaks, any required changes in the WOPI discovery XML, and the security considerations for the sub-domain scenario. Once your answers are clearly correct I will move forward with the full implementation phase, which will include delivering working endpoints, JWT proof-key rotation, and a UI that opens Word files in edit mode directly from our storage.
