Social Networking Web App

I’m building a browser-based social network that lets people connect in real time. The application must revolve around three core modules:

• User profiles – each member can create, edit, and display a personal page with avatar, bio, and basic privacy controls.
• Messaging system – one-to-one chats plus a dedicated area for group conversations. Messages should update instantly without forcing a page refresh.
• News feed – a scrolling timeline that aggregates posts from friends and groups, ordered chronologically for the first release.

Group chats are central to the experience, so please structure the messaging layer for easy scaling (WebSocket, Socket.io or an equivalent real-time solution). The stack is flexible: React or Vue on the front end, Node/Express, Django, or another modern back end you’re comfortable with, backed by a relational database. Clean, responsive UI, JWT-based authentication, and REST or GraphQL APIs are expected.

Deliverables
1. An MVP deployed to a staging server I can access.
2. Full source code in a private repo with clear commit history.
3. Setup/readme documentation so I can reproduce the build locally.

I’ll test by creating profiles, posting updates, and launching a group chat from two browsers; everything should sync in under a second. Once those checks pass, we’ll schedule a quick hand-off call to wrap up.
