Shopify Speed & Accessibility Boost
Budget: £20 – £250 GBP
My Shopify store is ready for a performance and accessibility tune-up focused primarily on the product pages. I need an experienced developer who can dive into the theme code, installed apps, and page assets to squeeze out every millisecond of speed while making the site friendlier to all users.
Performance goals
– Audit all scripts and apps loaded on product pages, keeping only what is essential and rewriting or deferring anything that slows First Contentful Paint.
– Re-compress and properly size images, SVGs, and other media across the store.
– Address any Core Web Vitals warnings flagged in Lighthouse or Google PageSpeed Insights.
Accessibility upgrades
The most pressing fixes are on product pages, specifically:
• Correct, programmatic form labels for every input (add for reviews, size selectors, etc.).
• Adjust colour palettes or add utility classes to hit WCAG AA contrast ratios.
• Ensure complete keyboard navigation, including visible focus states and logical tab order.
Additional touches
– Supply alt-text recommendations for missing images.
– Minor theme and UI tweaks to keep the look consistent once optimisations are in place.
– Small, Shopify-compliant adjustments in the checkout UI (text size, colour tweaks) where Liquid access is limited.
Deliverables
1. A summary report outlining all changes, removed apps, and remaining opportunities.
2. Optimised theme code pushed to a duplicate theme for my review and final publish.
3. Before-and-after metrics (Lighthouse and Web Vitals) demonstrating measurable improvement.
4. Accessibility checklist confirming fixes for labels, contrast, and keyboard flow.
If you have a track record of making Shopify themes faster without breaking design or functionality, I’d love to work with you.
