School Website Development on WordPress
Budget: £18 – £36 GBP
I’m looking to partner with a talented freelance developer to support a website refresh project at St Bede’s College – one of Manchester’s leading independent schools.
We’ve got a beautiful brand and a powerful story to tell, but our website needs some TLC to better reflect who we are and to make it easier for prospective families to engage with us online.
What we need:
UX tweaks and better user journeys
Speed and performance improvements
Smarter call-to-actions and layout fixes
We’re looking for a talented freelance web developer to support a transformative new marketing and admissions strategy at St Bede’s College – a leading independent school in Manchester.
About the role:
You’ll work closely with our in-house Marketing, Admissions & Development Director to optimise and evolve our current website (built on [insert CMS platform if known – e.g. WordPress, Drupal, bespoke system]) to better reflect our brand, drive fee-paying admissions, and improve the overall user experience across Prep, College, and Sixth Form.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape a key digital touchpoint for a school with over 150 years of heritage and a bold vision for the future.
Key deliverables include:
Full technical audit of our current site (including speed, structure, and mobile optimisation)
Seamless UX improvements for parent journeys (enquiry, booking, prospectus, application)
Adding/adjusting call-to-action banners across the site
Refreshing menu structure and potentially creating Quick Links for key actions
Ongoing technical support and implementation of content updates
Advising on SEO best practice and reporting setup (e.g. Google Analytics, tracking pixels)
Ideal candidate:
Proven experience as a freelance web developer (preferably with schools or education clients)
Able to provide clear recommendations and deliver efficient technical solutions
Excellent communicator, comfortable working with non-technical stakeholders
Available to begin work in August or early September
Based in the UK (Manchester/local knowledge a bonus, but remote working fine)
Please provide examples of previous school or similar institutional websites.
