Root File Display Fix

Job ID: 40481707

Budget: $10 – $30 USD

Files that I upload directly into the public root of my WordPress site refuse to show up in the browser—typing the full URL simply returns a blank page or an error instead of serving the file. I need someone to trace why the web server is blocking or mis-routing those direct requests and put in place the correct fix so the files become publicly accessible again.

You may need to inspect .htaccess rules, MIME types, file permissions, Nginx/Apache virtual-host settings, or any plugin-generated redirects. I can provide cPanel (or SSH) access plus the current WordPress admin login so you can replicate the issue, adjust settings, and test.

Deliverable
• A working root-level configuration where any file I place—for example a test image, PDF, or video—loads instantly via its URL without breaking existing WordPress pages or security rules.

I’d also like a brief note explaining what you changed so I can maintain the fix going forward.
