Polymer Trading Platform Development -- 2
Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR
1. Purpose of the Website
We want to build a professional B2B website for the Indian polymer market where buyers and sellers can trade polymers without knowing each other’s identity.
The core idea is simple:
Buyers should see only one final price.
Sellers should list inventory without seeing buyer details.
The website itself should act as the single interface and counterparty for all trades.
This is not a classifieds or listing website. It is a controlled trading platform.
2. Types of Users
The website will have three types of users:
Buyers
Sellers
Admin (platform operator)
Each user type should have a separate login and dashboard.
3. Homepage Requirements
The homepage should be clean, professional, and clearly explain what the platform does.
It should include:
Polymer categories
A clear option to buy polymers
A clear option to sell polymers
Basic market or platform information (static for MVP)
No price negotiations or chat features are required.
4. Buyer-Side Requirements
Buyer Registration
Buyers register using basic details, GST, and PAN.
Buyer accounts should be activated only after admin approval.
Buyer Dashboard
Buyers should be able to:
Search polymers by:
Polymer type (PP, HDPE, LDPE, LLDPE, PVC, ABS)
Grade
Manufacturer
Quantity
Delivery location
View only the following information:
Final price per kg
Available quantity
Estimated delivery time
GST amount
Buyers must not see:
Seller name
Seller company details
Seller contact information
Buyers should be able to:
Place orders
Make online payments
Track order status
Download invoices
5. Seller-Side Requirements
Seller Registration
Sellers register using business details, GST, and PAN.
Seller accounts should be activated only after admin approval.
Seller Dashboard
Sellers should be able to:
Upload inventory with:
Polymer type
Grade
Manufacturer
Quantity
Location
Base price (seller’s expected price)
Edit or remove inventory
View orders received
Update shipment status
Track payment status
Sellers must not see:
Buyer name
Buyer company details
Buyer contact information
6. Pricing Logic
Sellers enter a base price for their inventory.
The platform adds its own margin.
Buyers see only the final price.
The platform margin should be:
Configurable by the admin
Completely hidden from buyers and sellers
7. Payment Flow
Buyers make payments to the platform.
Payments should work in an escrow-like flow.
Sellers are paid after shipment confirmation.
Payment gateway preference: Razorpay or Cashfree.
Invoice flow:
Platform issues invoice to buyer.
Seller issues invoice to the platform.
8. Admin Panel Requirements
The admin panel is critical and should allow the admin to:
Approve or reject buyer and seller accounts
View and manage all listings
Set and change margins by polymer type
View all transactions
Manually override prices if needed
Block or suspend users
View basic analytics such as order volume and transaction value
9. Technology Preferences
Preferred stack:
Frontend: React or Next.js
Backend: Node.js (Express) or Django
Database: PostgreSQL
Hosting: AWS or DigitalOcean
Authentication: Role-based access control
10. Design and User Experience
Simple and professional B2B design
Fast loading pages
Responsive layout for desktop and mobile
No unnecessary animations or visual clutter
11. MVP Scope
This is an MVP build.
Focus only on the core buying and selling flow.
No advanced automation or AI features at this stage.
Code should be clean, scalable, and well documented.
Future features can be noted but not implemented now.
12. Deliverables
Fully functional website (frontend and backend)
Admin dashboard
Database setup
Deployment support
Basic technical documentation
Weekly progress updates are required
14. Non-Negotiable Points
Buyers and sellers must never see each other’s identity.
Buyers must see only the final price.
The platform must always appear as the counterparty in transactions.
