PHP Adult Language Learning Game
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I need a web-based game written in clean, well-commented PHP that helps adult learners practise Spanish, French and Mandarin. The experience is built around quizzes and flashcards: the player sees a word or phrase, chooses or types the correct translation, receives instant feedback, and moves on. A relaxed practice mode and an optional timed “challenge” mode would keep things interesting and let users decide how intense they want each session to be.
An admin page where I can upload or edit vocabulary lists—ideally with difficulty tags—will let me keep the content fresh. The game should pull items at random, track streaks and overall scores, then show simple stats at the end of each round so learners know where they still need work.
Please stay with native PHP (no heavy frameworks; lightweight libraries are fine), separate out HTML/CSS for easy theming, use MySQL for persistence, and make sure the layout is responsive so it plays smoothly on both desktop and mobile.
Deliverables
• Complete, well-commented PHP source code
• MySQL schema plus any seed data in .sql format
• Short setup guide so I can deploy on a standard LAMP stack
