Open-Source Soccer Assessment Platform

Job ID: 39753755

Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD

I need a cloud-hosted application that lets coaches assess football (soccer) teams anywhere on the continent. The focus is squarely on team sports—specifically football—and the tool must cover two core areas: technical skills evaluation (first touch, passing accuracy, dribbling, etc.) and tactical understanding review (positioning, decision-making, pattern recognition).

You are free to choose the stack as long as it is fully open source. Whether you prefer Django/PostgreSQL, Node/Express with a React front end, or another combination, I’m open to suggestions provided the final codebase is freely accessible and easy for other African clubs to self-host or extend. The application will live in the cloud, so please design for stable performance over varying bandwidths and multiple time zones.

Key deliverables
• A responsive web app where coaches can create squads, schedule tests, enter or upload results, and immediately view player or team dashboards.
• An admin area for managing users, roles, assessment templates, and season data.
• Export options (CSV/Excel) and a simple API so third-party scouting or analytics platforms can pull the raw data.
• Setup scripts (Docker or similar) plus clear documentation that covers installation, configuration, and a short “how to run an assessment” guide.
• Source code hosted on a public Git repository released under an OSI-approved license.

I will test the build from two different regions in Africa to confirm latency and reliability, then sign off once all listed features function as described and the documentation allows a clean self-deployment.
