Online auction marketplace read!

Job ID: 39629316

Budget: $3,000 – $5,000 USD

To compete with established players like Chrono24 and GetBezel, we need to launch with enough substance to give users a reason to switch—and a reason to stay.

In short:
What might look like “feature-heavy” is actually strategy-heavy—it’s what will differentiate us and build long-term traction.

I want to build a platform similar in design to Cars & Bids, but exclusively for luxury watches — a modern online marketplace featuring both Buy It Now and Auction options, an integrated Buy-Back / Trade-In Program, and a Community Feed to foster engagement among enthusiasts.

Core Features

1. Two Selling Options
• Buy It Now: Sellers can list watches at a fixed price for immediate purchase.
• Auction: Sellers can auction watches with starting bids, reserve prices, and countdown timers.

2. Buy-Back / Trade-In Program
• Customers choose to:
• Trade In: Redirects them to the dedicated Buy-Back section.
• List for Sale: If they decline, they’re prompted to list their watch on the marketplace.

3. User Authorization
• Buyers must register with name and email to purchase.
• Sellers must register to list watches and manage their account.
• Integrated feedback and review system to build trust.

4. Product Listings
• Upload:
• Multiple images.
• If possible Short video (2 -20 seconds) alongside images in the gallery.
• Detailed entry fields: brand, model, specs, condition, price, etc.

5. Admin Panel
• Approve/reject listings before going live.
• Random code generation for each listing.
• Manage products, auctions, users, bids, disputes, and content.

6. Order Management
• Sellers can track and fulfill orders via dashboard.

7. Smart Search & Filters
• Search by:
• Brand, model, price, condition, case size, strap, location, and more.

8. Product Pages
• High-quality image viewer.
• Integrated video viewer.
• Specifications, detailed descriptions.
• Comment section for buyer-seller engagement.

9. Shopping Cart & Checkout
• Multi-item cart (cross-seller support).
• Payment via major methods (cards, PayPal).
• Use Stripe (escrow) to hold funds until authentication/delivery.

10. Chat & Messaging
• Direct messaging between buyers and sellers.
• Comment threads on active listings.

11. Reviews & Ratings
• Product reviews and seller ratings visible on profiles and listings.

12. Seller Dashboard & Analytics
• Inventory tracking.
• Active listings management.
• Sales tracking.
• Performance and analytics insights.

13. Trust & Credibility
• Trustpilot badge linking to live Trustpilot review page.

14. Footer / Legal Pages
• Links to:
• Social media profiles.
• Contact Us page.
• Seller Policy, Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, etc.

If possible.

New Feature: Community Feed
• A social-style Community Feed where users can:
• Post photos, videos, or stories about their watches.
• Share recent purchases, trades, or personal collections.
• Comment, like, and interact with posts (similar to Instagram feed or Facebook timeline).
Option to showcase featured posts from verified collectors.
• Helps drive engagement, build community, and keep visitors active on the platform.

Design & Functional Inspiration:
• Frontend Design: Modeled after Cars & Bids.
• Marketplace Flow: Inspired by GetBezel.com and Chrono24.
• Social Component: Community Feed functions similarly to a simple watch-focused social network.
