Multi-Center Ecommerce Web & App

Job ID: 39757275

Budget: $1,500 – $3,000 USD

I need a custom-built ecommerce system that lets our company run several distribution centres under one account, each able to sell the same or entirely different Home and Living products.

E-Commerce Platform – Feature & Requirement List

1. Multi-Store Architecture

Each store is a unit under the same owner (you).

Stores are in different locations (e.g., Kanakpura, JP Nagar, Jayanagar, etc.).

Each store may specialize in:

Vegetables

Dry fruits

Sweets

Grocery items

---

2. Inventory Management System

Real-time inventory tracking for each store.

Track:

Quantity available

Reordering requirements

Store managers update item availability.

Central reconciliation of items sold vs. stock.

---

3. Order Management

Customer can order from any store, based on:

Item availability

Distance/radius (e.g., 10 km, 30 km, etc.)

Orders can include items from multiple stores.

Order confirmation step by store managers.

Centralized order summary for user.

Status tracking:

Order placed → Store accepted → Picked up → Delivered

---

4. Logistics & Delivery

Flexible delivery partner integration (e.g., Dunzo, Dhljo, etc.).

Logistics manager assigns pickup from respective stores.

Delivery options based on urgency:

1-hour delivery

2–3 hours

Next-day

Dynamic delivery pricing based on:

Distance

Time preference

---

5. Payments & Reconciliation

Single payment gateway for customers (one checkout, one payment).

End-of-day reconciliation:

Example: Product cost = ₹10, sold at ₹12 → Store gets ₹10

Earnings and deductions per store computed automatically.

---

6. Customer Experience

Customers see store options with:

Product availability

Distance

Delivery fee for each store

Can choose:

Cheapest option

Nearest store

Fastest delivery

Real-time delivery charge estimate (₹ per km, e.g., ₹20–30/km)

---

7. Platform Interfaces

Mobile App (Android, iOS)

Web Application for:

Admin

Store Managers

Customers

Admin Dashboard:

Control all stores

See orders, stock, payments

Assign logistics

---

8. Business Logic/Unique Features

No warehouse model → decentralized fulfillment from each store

Allows multiple stores to sell same product

Inventory-aware delivery planning

Differentiator from Amazon:

Delivery charge is dynamic based on user location

Transparency in fulfillment location

Option for other vendors to onboard in the future

- 9. Scalability & Technology Requirements

Cloud-based scalable backend

Multi-vendor capable in future (optional)

Modular microservices (for payments, inventory, logistics)

Admin control panel for product uploads, pricing, store performance

Key workflow
• A customer chooses products; the checkout automatically identifies the relevant centre (or the one I select manually) and applies courier fees that I can fine-tune per centre. Rates must remain fully editable from the back office so I can adjust them any time without code changes.
• The distance between the chosen centre and the customer’s delivery address should be pulled from a reliable mapping API and passed to the rate rules I configure.
• The final charge summary must show the customer exactly how that fee was calculated.

Required surfaces
• Responsive web storefront (desktop + mobile browsers).
• Native mobile apps for both iOS and Android that mirror the web experience and share the same database via secure APIs.
• A consolidated admin dashboard where I can:
– add or disable centres, set their stock, images, descriptions and handling time;
– upload or edit product data, prices and promotions in bulk;
– maintain the courier-rate tables unique to each centre;
– view orders, payments, fulfilment status, refunds and basic analytics.

Technical notes
I am open to any robust stack—Laravel, Node, Django, or a similar framework for the backend, and either Flutter, React Native or native code for the apps—as long as the end result is fast, secure and easy for my staff to use. Please include database schema design, API documentation and clean source code as part of the handover.

Acceptance criteria
• Web and mobile apps pass QA on current Chrome, Safari, iOS and Android versions.
• Centre-specific courier calculations function correctly on test distances I provide.
• All core admin tasks work without needing a developer’s help.

Let me know the estimated timeline, the tech stack you prefer and any similar projects you have shipped so we can get started right away.
