Local News Feed Development
Budget: ₹100 – ₹400 INR
Marrow needs a straightforward, image-centric news feed that keeps our audience informed about what is happening right here at home. The feed must spotlight local stories only, attach a compelling photo to each headline, and refresh itself on a daily schedule without manual intervention.
Here’s the flow I have in mind. A lightweight back-end (WordPress plugin, headless CMS, or a small custom script—use whichever you feel is leanest) pulls the latest local articles from trusted sources or an RSS I provide, grabs the lead image, and publishes the bundle to a clean, responsive front-end component that drops seamlessly into our existing site. If a story comes through without a photo, the system should prompt me to upload one or fall back to a default image so the layout always looks polished.
Because the update cadence is daily, caching and clearable refresh logic are essential; I want new stories live every morning without draining server resources. A compact admin panel or dashboard toggle that lets me reorder, archive, or quickly edit captions would be a big plus.
Deliverables
• Fully functional news-feed module styled to match Marrow’s brand
• Automated daily fetch & publish workflow with image handling
• Simple admin controls and set-up guide (a short Loom walk-through works)
Completion is confirmed once the feed shows three consecutive days of fresh local stories, images render correctly on mobile and desktop, and I can reorder items from the admin view in under thirty seconds.
