Investigate External 404 Link Issue
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
An external link that used to work from my site is now throwing a 404 Page Not Found. Nothing on my side or the target site has been knowingly changed, so I need a concise root-cause analysis and a practical path to resolution.
What I expect from you
• Pinpoint why the external URL no longer resolves—DNS change, server move, SSL mismatch, content removal, security block, or anything else you discover.
• Document each step taken (traceroute, WHOIS, HTTP headers, SSL checks, Wayback/archival look-ups, etc.) so I can easily follow the reasoning.
• Recommend the simplest, most reliable fix—whether that’s updating the destination, swapping to an alternative resource, or implementing a graceful fallback on my end.
Success for me looks like a short report that clearly states what broke, why it broke, and exactly what I should do next.
