Interactive Family Tree Website
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I’d like a clean, easy-to-navigate website whose sole focus is to present my family tree. The heart of the build is a dynamic diagram that shows each person’s name, their direct relationships, and birth- and death-dates. Visitors should be able to click a relative and see the next branch unfold without reloading the page, so a JavaScript-powered, visually appealing tree component (D3.js, GoJS, or a comparable library) will be essential.
A simple admin area is also required so I can add, edit, or remove relatives myself—ideally through a form rather than manual code edits. If WordPress is your preferred framework that is fine, but a lightweight custom PHP or Node solution is equally acceptable as long as the back-end is intuitive.
Deliverables
• Fully responsive website hosted on my domain, pre-populated with an initial data set I will supply (CSV or JSON).
• Admin panel for CRUD operations on names, relationships, birth and death dates.
• Front-end visualization that expands/collapses branches smoothly and clearly indicates parent–child links.
• Brief hand-off guide (PDF or markdown) so I can maintain the site independently.
I already have the domain and hosting ready; you handle the build, styling, and data import. Once complete, I’ll test functionality across desktop and mobile before final sign-off. Looking forward to seeing how you bring our lineage to life online.
