Interactive Color-Coded Floor Plan

Job ID: 40322729

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I have a simple brief: turn my static floor plan into a fully interactive, colour-coded version where every room or zone is a clickable (and hoverable) box that pops up a short text description. I don’t have a preferred stack, so I’m counting on you to suggest the most practical solution—whether that’s an HTML/SVG canvas with vanilla JavaScript, a React component, or another lightweight approach that keeps loading times low and makes future edits easy.

Here’s exactly what I expect:
• A web-ready file (or small set of files) I can open in any modern browser.
• Clean, well-commented source so I can hand it to other staff if we need tweaks later.
• An easy way for me to update colours or room descriptions without touching complex code—ideally a JSON, CSV, or simple text array.
• Basic instructions on how to host or embed the finished map on our intranet page.

Visually, the colours must remain consistent across hover and click states; the description panel can be a tooltip, modal, or sidebar—whichever feels most intuitive once you see the layout. Above all, the interaction needs to feel smooth on both desktop and tablet.

Send a quick outline of your proposed tech stack and how you would structure the data, along with your estimated turnaround, and we can get started right away.
