GTFS Timetable Interactive Map

I have two sets of complete GTFS feeds and I want to have them visualised online so passengers can compare the services of how the two sets of GTFS services operate. The map will have two layers, one on top of the other (stacked, overlayed) with a way to toggle between these two overlaid maps depicting each set of GTFS data.

When a user focuses on a route or area, the corresponding timetable should appear alongside or beneath the map (I’m flexible on the exact layout as long as the schedule is clear and easy to read). Real-time tracking, searchable stops, and pop-up details are not required; the goal is a straightforward, lightweight public-information display driven by the static GTFS data. I would like to have a console that provides information similar to Google Maps.

I’m happy for you to choose your preferred mapping stack—Leaflet, Mapbox GL JS, OpenLayers, or another JavaScript library—provided it loads quickly and can be self-hosted. Clean, well-commented code and simple deployment instructions are essential so I can maintain the feed updates myself in the future.

Deliverable:
• A web page (HTML/JS/CSS) that ingests my GTFS feed, renders the routes, and shows the associated timetables, with smooth zoom and pan functionality.
