Full-Stack Development of a Responsive Thesaurus Web App (API-Integrated)

Job ID: 40117506

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I am looking for a skilled Full-Stack Developer to build a fast, modern, and user-friendly Thesaurus Web Application. The app will allow users to search for synonyms, antonyms, and related words using a third-party API (e.g., WordNet, Big Huge Thesaurus, or Oxford).

I have already created the basis of the app in Claude and have it working. What I need is for someone to help me create a Postgres database in Supabase and connect it to https://vercel.com/ along with my github account. I've done a sketch, I need someone to help fill in all the details.

I want to store the results for the top 100,000 most used english words (I will provide a list) and have the database update with new words as they are searched so that it can work with a cache and have static urls like:

en/synonyms/fun - shows synonyms for "fun"
en/synonyms/happy - shows synonyms for "happy"
en/synonyms/beautiful - shows synonyms for "beautiful"
You can set it up so that when the request comes to your site, the HTML is created on the fly each time.

The goal is to create a clean "Google-style" search experience with instant results and a focus on high performance.

Core Features Required:
Instant Search: A prominent search bar with "search-as-you-type" suggestions.

Thesaurus Results: Display Synonyms along with search volume and the word in a sentence.

Multilingual Support (Optional): Ability to toggle between English and [mention other languages if needed].

When setting up the database I need someone who knows how to work in up to 37 languages.

When you make the database, can you make tables for each language based on the following abbreviations:

The scope of the project for now is only English but the framework should be flexible so that I can add in other popular languages as I go.

Advanced UI/UX: I already have the UI built in claude. A lot of the work is done. What I don't know how to do is connect this to a postgres database in supabase and work with a github account and vercel.

Responsive design (Optimized for Desktop, Tablet, and Mobile).

Dark/Light mode toggle.

One-click "Copy to Clipboard" for any word result.

History & Bookmarks: A "Recent Searches" section and the ability for users to "Star/Favorite" words (local storage or user account based).

Export Functionality: Option to download a list of synonyms as a PDF or .txt file.

Technical Preferences:
Frontend: React.js, Vue.js, or Next.js (Must be SEO friendly).

Backend: Node.js (Express), Python (FastAPI/Django), or similar.

Database: PostgreSQL.

API Integration: Integration with [Your chosen API] or a custom-built dictionary database.

Hosting: Deployment to Vercel.

Deliverables:
A fully functional app with database integration, newsletter signup, dataforseo.com integration, Final Testing, Bug Fixing, and Deployment.

Bidder Requirements
Please include the following in your proposal:

Links to 2–3 web apps you have built (dictionaries or search-heavy apps preferred).

Your proposed tech stack for this project.

An estimated timeline for an MVP (Minimum Viable Product).

I'm looking for a long term developer who can help me and get paid more as the site develops. I will send you a link to the app once you have responded by starting your bid with the word "SYNONYM" and showing me you understand the requirements.
