Project Description:
We are Estia Events, a South African event management company, looking for an experienced development team to build the MVP of a booking and payments platform for our "Matric Dance App" — a mobile-responsive web application that lets schools (and later, private/corporate clients) request event dates, receive an automatically calculated pricing package, and manage attendee deposit and balance payments through a live, transparent booking register.
Core MVP scope:
• Public calendar showing available/booked dates and live "% booked" status (no login required to view)
• Organiser registration and date-request flow
• Automated pricing calculator based on attendee count, budget, and package tier
• Attendee registration with deposit payment via a South African payment gateway (PayFast, Ozow, or Yoco)
• Live, real-time attendance/payment register per event
• Automated balance invoicing and a refund/take-over workflow
• Admin console for managing bookings, payments, and the calendar
What we're looking for:
• A team with proven, in-house experience across mobile-responsive front-end, back-end/API, and payment gateway integration — not work that gets quietly subcontracted out
• Experience building booking, scheduling, or marketplace-style platforms with live status updates
• Familiarity with South African payment gateways (PayFast/Ozow/Yoco) and WhatsApp Business API or email notification integration
• Awareness of POPIA (South African data protection requirements), since some end users are minors
• A track record of shipping a lean, well-tested MVP efficiently — we're looking for a small, senior team that can validate the system through a handful of well-designed test scenarios rather than a lengthy formal QA cycle
