EMAX EMU: Custom Multiplayer System Development
Budget: €250 – €750 EUR
Hi there,
I’m looking to bring back online functionality for an old PC racing game that no longer has active servers. I would like to host a custom multiplayer environment under the name "EMAX EMU."
I already have VPS infrastructure and domain resources set up. I’m now seeking an experienced developer or team capable of analyzing game network behavior and building a compatible multiplayer system that allows players to connect, compete, and track progress.
Project Overview:
Analyze the game’s multiplayer protocol using network capture
Configure redirection of network traffic to a custom server
Develop a compatible backend system that enables online gameplay
Implement required client-side modifications (if needed) to support custom server communication
Build a web-based user registration and login panel
Users log in with a simple username and password
Create online leaderboards and lobby system
Support up to 25–50 concurrent users
Required Skills:
Network protocol analysis (e.g., with tools like Wireshark)
Experience working with online multiplayer systems
Proficiency in C/C++ or similar system-level languages
Understanding of low-level client/server communication
VPS setup, server configuration, and Linux environments
Web development (HTML/CSS/JS + backend language)
Experience with SQL-based databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.)
Deliverables:
A working multiplayer server environment that interfaces with the game
Web-based account system (register/login)
Lobby and leaderboard features
Deployment on VPS with basic documentation
Testing results (stability, user handling, etc.)
Payment Terms:
All payments will be processed via Freelancer milestone system.
I’m not offering any upfront payments before initial work demonstration.
A small, paid test task may be assigned to confirm technical ability.
Advance or bonus payments are possible once trust is established.
Only experienced and professional developers are encouraged to apply.
