Drag-and-Drop Form Builder Development

Job ID: 40625828

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I want to launch a web app that focuses on a single, powerful feature from Jotform: its drag-and-drop form builder. The goal is to let users create forms visually, arrange fields by dragging, and configure advanced logic in real time, all inside a clean browser interface.

Key requirements
• Advanced builder: users must be able to pick common field types (text, dropdown, file upload, etc.), drag them into place, resize/re-order instantly, and set conditional logic without writing code.
• Real-time preview: every change should reflect immediately so users can test the form flow as they build.
• Style controls: colours, fonts, spacing, borders and other UI elements must be tweakable inside a sidebar or modal.
• Export & embed: completed forms should generate a share link and an embeddable snippet (iFrame or script).
• User accounts: basic signup/login so each user can save, edit and duplicate their own forms.
• Scalable foundation: I am open to the tech stack you recommend (React, Vue, Angular, or another modern framework on the front end; Node, Django, Laravel, etc. on the back end). Clean, documented code is essential so additional modules such as payment integration or a template library can be added later.

Acceptance criteria
1. Drag-and-drop interface matches the smoothness and responsiveness of Jotform’s builder on desktop and mobile.
2. Conditional logic supports show/hide, skip-to, and calculation rules.
3. Forms created within the app render identically when shared or embedded.
4. Codebase is delivered through Git with clear setup instructions and inline comments.
5. You provide a short video walkthrough demonstrating all core functions.

Time frame
There is no hard deadline, so quality comes first. We can agree on milestones that make sense—perhaps prototype, beta, and final release—and adjust dates together.

If you have built complex web editors, form systems or drag-and-drop UIs before, let’s talk about your approach and any existing components you might leverage to accelerate delivery.
