Django Automation for Chemical Operations

Job ID: 40515650

Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD

I need a seasoned Python-Django developer to build a standalone web application that streamlines three critical workflows for our chemical plant: inventory management, laboratory data processing, and all reporting/compliance paperwork.

Here’s what I’m after:
• A clean Django back-end (Python 3.11 preferred) with models that accurately reflect our product SKUs, raw-material lots, test batches, and regulatory documents.
• Automated lab-data capture screens and background routines that calculate specs, flag out-of-tolerance results, and store everything in a searchable archive.
• Real-time inventory tracking with automatic unit-of-measure conversions, reorder alerts, and audit-ready lot traceability.
• One-click generation of compliance reports (PDF/Excel) that pull directly from the validated data sets and tag them with revision history.

No ERP, LIMS, or external hardware integration is required—this will run as a self-contained system on our internal server.

Deliverables will include:
1. Full, well-commented source code in a Git repository.
2. Database schema (PostgreSQL or SQLite for dev) and migration files.
3. Basic test suite and sample dataset for quick evaluation.
4. Dockerfile or step-by-step deployment guide.
5. A short user guide that shows chemists and supervisors how to perform the key actions above.

Clean architecture, security best practices, and responsive front-end templates (Django-templates or a lightweight React/Vue layer) are all appreciated. If you are the automation ninja who can bring this to life, let’s talk timelines and milestones.
