Custom WordPress News Plugin Development

I’m building a news-focused WordPress site and need a purpose-built plugin that lets me create and manage articles entirely by hand—no RSS scraping or external API calls. The goal is to streamline manual entry, keep everything inside the Dashboard, and leave core files untouched so future WordPress updates remain painless.
Key objectives
• Add a dedicated “News Article” post type that sits separately from regular posts and pages.
• Provide an intuitive editor screen with custom fields for subtitle, byline, source, featured image, and optional video embed.
• Support tags and hierarchical categories so I can group stories by topic and region.
• Offer scheduling, draft preview, and sticky/featured toggles to control front-page placement.
• Generate clean archive, single, and taxonomy templates that I can override in my theme if needed.
• Follow WordPress coding standards, enqueue assets properly, and include clear inline documentation.
• Ship as an installable .zip plus a brief setup guide.
Acceptance criteria
1. Plugin installs/activates on a fresh WordPress 6.x site without errors or warnings.
2. Custom post type, taxonomies, and meta boxes appear as described and save data correctly.
3. No third-party feed, API, or external calls are present; all content originates from manual entry.
4. Code passes WP_DEBUG true with no notices.
5. Deliverables provided within version-controlled repository or packaged zip, along with a short README.
