Custom 5-in-1 LoRaWAN Kit
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I’m putting together a single, compact kit that combines a LoRaWAN energy meter, water meter, PIR occupancy sensor, and a temperature & humidity probe—all feeding into one indoor gateway and a unified web dashboard. My top priority is rock-solid energy and water consumption monitoring; the other three sensors round out the package for a full building snapshot.
I don’t have fixed brands in mind, so I’m looking for your recommendations on the best-in-class hardware that stays within LoRaWAN standards and is easy to source globally. Once the parts are chosen, I need you to handle the entire pipeline: hardware integration, firmware, basic protective enclosure design if any board goes naked, functional testing, and clear documentation so the kit can be reproduced or expanded later.
Deliverables
• Final BOM with supplier links and short rationale
• Fully wired and flashed prototype (or detailed build guide if remote)
• Indoor gateway set up with network server connection
• Web-based dashboard that shows real-time readings, historic trends, and alert flags
• Firmware source, build instructions, and all pinouts/schematics
• Test report proving end-to-end data flow for each of the five sensors
• User and setup manual in PDF/Markdown
Please mention which LoRaWAN stack, dashboard frameworks, or low-power tricks you plan to use so I can gauge long-term maintainability. Looking forward to seeing how you’ll bring this 5-in-1 kit to life.
