Build Mental Health Community Platform
Budget: £250 – £750 GBP
I need an online space devoted entirely to mental health where visitors can talk openly, find trustworthy information, and receive real-time help. The core of the project is a full-featured community platform that combines three key elements:
• Forums for discussions – structured threads where members can start or join conversations, react, follow topics, and receive notifications.
• A searchable resource library – articles, videos, guided exercises, and downloadable worksheets that I can upload and tag through a simple CMS.
• Live chat support – one-to-one and group chat capability with status indicators, basic moderation tools, and the option to escalate to external helplines.
A clean, calming UI, mobile-first responsiveness, and solid accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA) are essential. I’m happy with open-source frameworks—React, Vue, or a well-customized WordPress/BuddyBoss stack are all acceptable—as long as performance remains snappy and the code is maintainable.
Security and privacy matter; please include SSL, encrypted passwords, role-based permissions, and GDPR-compliant data handling. Once the build is complete, I’ll need deployment to my cloud hosting (AWS or DigitalOcean) and a brief hand-over guide so I can manage users and content without touching code.
Acceptance criteria
• All three features working smoothly on desktop and mobile.
• Page load <2 s on a standard 4G connection.
• No critical accessibility errors in Lighthouse or WAVE.
• Source code, database schema, and install instructions delivered in a private repo.
If anything here needs clarification, let me know so we can keep the project moving efficiently.
