Audio Access Control System Development
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I produce audio for my radio show called Essential Dissent, and upload it to a website called radio4all.net, aka the a-Infos Radio Project. The website is a media interchange site, IOW producers upload audio, and end users (radio stations, etc) can then download it for free, with the idea that they will use it for broadcast.
So far so good. But radio4all does not require downloaders to reveal their identity, and although I ask that users do, almost no one does. Consequently I have almost no idea as to which radio stations are airing my audio. My project is an attempt to get them to tell me who they are.
Radio4all has no way to facilitate this, and for philosophical reasons will not make the coding changes necessary to require users to identify themselves.
But radio4all allows me to upload my audio to either their server or to a server of my choice, for example to my OneDrive account, by posting on radio4all only a link to the audio hosted on OneDrive. So my idea is to upload audio to my OneDrive account, and direct radio4all users to that audio via a link.
But when R4A users click the link, they will not be taken directly to the OD audio. Instead they will go to a form (Microsoft form?, Google form?), which will require them to enter their first and last names, email address, and radio station, if any. Then they will be sent (via email) a link to the OD audio.
The form should have a text field where I can state restrictions on use of the audio, and a box that users can check to agree. If they don't check the box, they don't get to download the audio.
I’m undecided as to whether the link should be good for only a single download, and whether or not this is even possible. Most, but not all, of my episodes have two versions, and I'd like people to be able to download both of them without having to fill out the form twice. But I don't want people to be able to distribute the link to others, who would thus circumvent my plan to get them to tell me their names and radio stations.
Also, after a set period of time (probably 3 - 6 months, but I'd like to be able to change this per episode if I want to) I'd like to drop the requirement to fill out the form, and let people have direct access to the OD audio, again on a per episode basis.
I'll need to be able to run the back end of this with no special skills.
