Wikilogy Theme Visual Overhaul
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
I’m looking to bring the live site, https://www.thesikhencyclopedia.com, in line with the polished look shown in the Wikilogy demos while also smoothing out a few functional rough edges. My end goal is a lighter, cleaner interface that feels organised at a glance but still delivers all of the information our readers expect.
Here’s what I need:
• Category Grid Styling
On any category archive—start with Philosophy-Spirituality-and-Ethics—the posts should appear in a tidy, even-spaced grid exactly like demo layout “Content Listing 03”. Each thumbnail must be forced to a square aspect ratio, share identical dimensions, sit inside a subtle border, and rest on a light background that differentiates the card from the page canvas.
• Home Page Declutter
The current front page feels busy, largely because of oversized images and an overcrowded sidebar. Trim the visual noise, rebalance spacing, and give the hero areas more breathing room so first-time visitors aren’t overwhelmed.
• Alphabetical Encyclopedia Templates
a) Global index: /alphabetical-encyclopedia/ should mirror demo “Alphabetical Index 03”.
b) Letter archives such as /alphabet/m/ should follow demo “Alphabetical Index 02”.
Retain our existing permalinks but swap in the cleaner grid/list styling and navigation elements from the demos.
• Contact Page Clean-up
Align the form, map and sidebar so they no longer collide on smaller screens and the spacing feels consistent with the rest of the redesign.
• Content Search + Alpha Index
Re-create the demo “Content Search” page, complete with the alphabetical index sitting directly beneath the search bar for quick jump navigation.
I’m focused on both visual appeal and functionality, so CSS tweaks alone are fine where possible, but don’t hesitate to tap into PHP template overrides or lightweight JS if a cleaner solution demands it. Please keep the palette on the lighter side to match the rest of the site.
When you’re done I should be able to click through each of the URLs above and see the same structure, spacing and responsiveness showcased in the official Wikilogy demos—just coloured and branded for The Sikh Encyclopedia.
