WEBSITE SPECIFICATION & REQUEST FOR QUOTATION
ARCHIWORLD.COM
A new high-end architecture brand website
Prepared by Jacques Allard · ALLARD BV · Brussels | Nice
1. Purpose of this document
This document describes the requirements for a new website for ArchiWorld, replacing the current site. It is intended for web studios and developers to prepare a detailed quotation. We invite a quotation structured in two phases, so we can launch quickly and extend later.
ArchiWorld is an international architecture brand with 25 years of reputation, connecting leading architects, manufacturers and institutions. The new website must reflect that standing: refined, exclusive and high-end.
2. Look, feel and principles
The guiding idea behind every page: light, elegant, exclusive, not overwhelming. The site should feel like a quality magazine, not a busy portal.
• Generous use of white space, large high-quality images, minimal text.
• Showcase first, commerce second. Visitors should first experience the quality of the architecture, then discover the partners.
• Fully responsive: must work beautifully on desktop, tablet and mobile.
• Fast loading, modern, clean typography.
• Language: English only (single language).
3. Content management (CMS)
A core requirement: every page must be editable by us through a user-friendly content management system (CMS), without needing the developer for routine updates. We must be able to add, edit and remove content ourselves, including text, images, projects and partners.
Please propose a established, well-supported CMS. Indicate clearly in your quotation which CMS you propose and why.
Editable elements we must control ourselves include, as a minimum: the homepage statement and image, each project in the showcase, each magazine edition, each partner profile, and all standard page text.
4. Site structure and pages
The site is organised around the following sections. Each is described below with its content and which parts must be CMS-editable.
Home
Content
• One strong statement and a large signature image.
• Three to four quiet gateways into the main sections.
• No clutter, no pop-ups. The first impression must signal exclusivity.
CMS-editable
• The main statement text, the signature image, and the featured gateways.
Legacy / About
Content
• The 25-year story, reputation and standing of ArchiWorld.
• Key names and milestones, the registered trademark mentioned subtly.
CMS-editable
• All text and images on the page.
Remarkable Architecture (Project of the Day)
Content
• A curated showcase of exceptional architecture, one project highlighted at a time.
• Beautiful photography with a short editorial description per project.
• An archive of previously featured projects, browsable.
CMS-editable
• Add, edit and remove projects ourselves: title, images, text, architect credit.
• Set which project is currently featured.
Archi-News (the magazine)
Content
• A dedicated home for the magazine: the current edition and an archive of past editions.
• Each edition viewable elegantly online (for example a page-flip or embedded reader).
CMS-editable
• Upload a new edition ourselves and manage the archive.
Premium Partners (Selected Solution Providers)
Content
• The commercial heart of the site: a curated selection of approved high-end manufacturers and their best solutions.
• Presented as a quality keymark, not a wall of banners. Each partner has a refined profile page.
• A partner profile can include their logo, a presentation of their products, and a link to selected projects featuring them.
CMS-editable
• Add, edit and remove partners ourselves: logo, description, product presentation, images, link.
• Control the order and selection of partners shown.
Archi-Visit
Content
• An explanation of the personal VIP architect visits, the activity that digital cannot replace.
• Positioned as the unique bridge between manufacturers and the right architects.
CMS-editable
• All text and images.
Events & Awards
Content
• The legacy of formats: the Academy Awards, the European Architecture Awards, panels and curated delegations.
• Demonstrates capability and keeps the door open to institutional partners.
CMS-editable
• Add and edit events and award editions ourselves.
Contact
Content
• A simple, elegant contact page with a contact form and details.
• A clear link to the sister brand ArchiRiviera.
CMS-editable
• Contact details and text. Form submissions delivered to our email.
5. Social media publishing
When we publish new content on the site, such as a new project in the showcase or a new partner, we would like the option to share it to our social media channels. For now this concerns Facebook and LinkedIn only (not Instagram or TikTok).
Important: we do not want a fragile custom-built connection to each platform that needs constant maintenance. Instead, please prepare the site so it can connect to an established third-party social media publishing tool, which maintains those platform connections itself. Please describe in your quotation how you would approach this and the recurring cost involved.
This is a Phase 2 item. The Phase 1 launch site does not need it.
6. Phasing of the quotation
Please provide a quotation split into the two phases below, with a separate price for each. This allows us to launch a strong first version quickly, then extend it.
Phase 1 — Launch version
An elegant, fully working site that establishes the brand and lets us start immediately.
• Home, Legacy, Remarkable Architecture (with archive), Archi-News, Premium Partners, Archi-Visit, Contact.
• Full CMS so we can edit every page, add projects and add partners ourselves.
• Responsive design, English only, refined high-end styling.
• Migration of essential existing content and basic search-engine readiness.
Phase 2 — Extension
Added later, financed once the brand partnerships are running.
• Events & Awards section with full archive.
• Enhanced magazine reader for Archi-News (page-flip or premium embedded viewer).
• Richer partner profiles, linking partners to the projects they appear in.
• Connection to a third-party publishing tool for Facebook and LinkedIn.
• Optional newsletter integration and analytics dashboard.
7. What we ask in your quotation
• A separate price for Phase 1 and Phase 2.
• The CMS you propose and the reason for your choice.
• An estimated timeline for Phase 1.
• Hosting, maintenance and support options with their costs.
• Two or three examples of high-end or editorial websites you have built.
• What you would need from us to begin (content, images, brand assets).
8. Practical
We will provide brand assets, photography and text. We value design taste and restraint above feature quantity: the result must feel exclusive and uncluttered.
