Minimalist Personal Story Website
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
The site is for my wife, a grandmother, that has truly excellent writing skills. She has a number of writings, reviews and other content that could create a legacy for her if they were posted online. Caution - she does not have great computer skills, and only uses an iPad. My guess is the freelancer would need to meet with her as necessary in Oak Park, Il.
I want a simple, elegant space where I can publish my personal stories without distraction. The site should feel airy and uncluttered, letting the words take center stage while still looking polished on desktop, tablet, and mobile.
Here is what I need you to take care of from start to finish:
• Design and build a fully responsive personal website in a minimalistic, clean style.
• Implement an intuitive way for me to post future stories on my own—WordPress, Webflow, or a lightweight static-site generator all work as long as the editing experience is straightforward.
• Populate the site with my initial content: an About page, three sample stories (I will supply the text and images), and a contact form that routes to my email.
• Apply basic on-page SEO (meta tags, alt text, readable URLs) so each story can be found easily.
• Set up Google Analytics (or plausible lightweight alternative) so I can track visits.
Acceptance criteria
1. Pages load quickly and display consistently on Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and mobile browsers.
2. I can log in or use the CMS/editor to add a new story in under five minutes without touching code.
3. All supplied text and images are formatted exactly as provided, with no layout glitches.
4. The site passes Google Lighthouse performance and accessibility scores of 90+ out of the box.
Once you hand over the finished site, please give me a short screen-share walkthrough or a concise PDF guide so I feel confident updating it myself.
